The Nigerian Police Force has declared wanted four gang leaders that orchestrated the Offa Robbery that took place in Offa, Kwara State on April 4th 2018. They have also released their photos and asked members of the public to release any information they have on them.
The photos provided were the clearest, since the incident exactly a month ago.
The police said the Kwara State Government has also promised a N5 million bounty for information about the suspects, and they listed the hotlines to be contacted as 08062080913, 08126285268, 08032365122, 07056792065, 08088450152.
It was the latest update provided by the police following the arrest of 20 principal suspects earlier and the recovery of two Beretta Pistols, bullets, phones and SIM cards of some of the victims.
“All the suspects are cooperating with the Police in the investigation into the incident. Currently, some of the other gang leaders and principal suspects at large are being identified and their pictures obtained for further investigation”, Assistant Commissioner of police, Moshood Jimoh said.
Police asked for public help to apprehend the gangsters still at large and said they have also been placed on INTERPOL Watchlist and Red Alert.
“Other sister security and safety agencies are equally implored to arrest them and hand over to the nearest Police Station or Formation across the country or avail the Police with any information they may have or come across about these suspects,” Moshood said.
Just a week after the incident, an alleged CCTV footage of the Offa robbery scene and suspects was released to the public.
In the footage, a woman and her child were seen leaving what looked like the ATM house of a bank when gun bearing men started shooting sporadically from the major road.
Two men standing by the small house took off immediately they heard the gunshots, while the camera angle did not show what became of the woman and the child she was holding.
After that, three armed men were seen going around seemingly coordinating what next to do.
Smoke, which appeared to come from explosives were also seen after a banging noise.
Another explosive was later thrown into what seem like the small building housing the ATM.
Then the men went inside and came out.
