Dayton shooting: Atleast 9 killed, 16 injured in second mass shooting in US

According to the Police , the shooter responsible for the Dayton Ohio mass shooting has been killed. They said the shooting started in the early hours of Sunday in the city’s Oregon District, an historic neighbourhood known for its nightclubs, bars, art galleries and shops.

The Dayton Daily News reported that the incident took place at or near an establishment called Ned Pepper’s Bar in Dayton’s Oregon District.

In a post on Twitter, the Dayton police department said that an “active shooter situation” had begun at 01:22am.

“The shooter is deceased. There are 9 others also deceased. At least 16 others went to area hospitals with injuries,” it said.

Dayton police said they had officers “in the immediate vicinity when this shooting began and were able to respond and put an end to it quickly”. They said the FBI were assisting in the investigation.

At least 16 others were taken to local hospitals with injuries, police said.

Miami Valley Hospital spokeswoman Terrea Little said 16 victims have been received at the hospital, but she couldn’t confirm their conditions. Kettering Health Network spokeswoman Elizabeth Long said multiple victims from a shooting had been brought to system hospitals, but didn’t have details on how many.

The suspected shooter’s identity has not been released.
